About the company

AI and renewables are the 21st century's two largest megatrends, and they're colliding in the world's largest industry: energy. AI has made intelligence abundant, so human brains are no longer the bottleneck. Cheap and secure power is. The people, businesses and countries that have access to cheap, clean and secure power will lead this century. Renewables can deliver it, but they've turned a previously static, predictable commodity into a huge, complex, changing forecasting and optimisation problem that the industry's decades-old systems were never built to solve. Volter exists to solve it. We're building the first AI-native operating system for business energy, so that every business can run on power that's cheaper, cleaner and more secure. Octopus and Kraken did this for homes; we're doing it for business. And it's working. We launched our platform in early 2026 and have already grown revenue 20x, with customers all across the UK now using the Volter platform. We're still a small team, so you'll shape the product, the tech and the culture from the ground up.

About the role

🔋 Where you plug in As our platform grows, so does the number of tender requests coming in from brokers. Responding quickly and pricing sharply is how we win in this market, so we need someone to own that engine day to day. In your first year, success means hitting our turnaround times consistently, growing win rates while protecting margin, and helping automate the pricing process so we can handle far more volume with the same team. ⚙️ What you’ll power - Own import tenders and RFQs from start to finish: triage, price, structure and respond within our turnaround targets - Run a high volume of live deals every day, juggling multiple tenders without letting quality slip - Price half-hourly and bespoke contracts with sharp judgement, winning deals where it makes sense and pricing out where the risk-adjusted return doesn’t meet the bar - Quote export tenders for generators with the same speed and rigour - Partner with brokers, channel partners and our TPI Managers on live deals, handling clarifications, revisions, negotiations and win/loss feedback - Track pipeline, turnaround times and win rates, and refine pricing based on market conditions, broker feedback and win/loss analysis - Hand over won deals smoothly to Ops for onboarding and billing, keeping the CRM clean and reporting accurate Improve RFQ workflows, pricing processes and tooling with our founders, product and engineering teams, so we can handle more volume, faster 🔌 What you’ll bring - A few years’ experience in banking, consulting, sales or a similar fast-paced environment - A commercial mindset: you understand what makes a deal good for the customer and for the business, and you know when to walk away - Strong analytical skills. You’re comfortable with numbers and confident turning data into quick, sound decisions. - You build relationships naturally. You can keep brokers and partners on side in fast-moving conversations, even when the answer is no. - You’re a problem solver who digs into messy situations, finds the simplest route through and spots ways to make processes better - You can handle high-volume, deadline-driven work without letting quality slip Nice-to-haves: - Exposure to energy, renewables, infrastructure or industrial B2B - Experience with export or generation pricing, or PPAs - Experience working on live deal flow, tenders or structured products - Comfort with data tools such as Excel, SQL or BI dashboards 🔆 Your kind of energy How we bring the Volter values to life in this role: Integrity, trust and transparency: You price every deal in a way you’d be happy to explain to the customer. When a deal doesn’t work for us, you tell the broker straight and keep the relationship strong. Growth, ambition and excellence: Every quote is accurate, on time and defensible. You use win/loss data to get sharper every week. Getting sh*t done: You clear the tender queue within our turnaround times, every day, and you make the call without waiting for perfect information. Electric enthusiasm: Volume energises you. A morning full of RFQs is a good day. Fun and humble: You share what you learn from deals, ask for help when a structure is new to you, and care more about team wins than personal ones. 🌱 How we work We’re together in our Old Street office four days a week, because the best ideas and energy (!) still happen in the same room. You’ll work directly with founders who’ve built and scaled businesses to multi-billion-dollar valuations. You’ll need the right to work in the UK, as we’re unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
