Terms

Last updated: 15 September 2026

These Terms govern your use of Find a Startup Job at findastartupjob.co.uk.

By using the site or submitting an application through Find a Startup Job, you agree to these Terms. Please also read our Privacy Notice, which explains how we handle personal information.

1. About Find a Startup Job

Find a Startup Job is a UK startup job board that allows people to discover vacancies posted by startups and apply directly to the employer advertising a role.

Candidates can browse vacancies and submit applications without creating a candidate account.

Find a Startup Job provides the platform used to advertise vacancies and transmit applications. We are not a recruitment agency and we do not act as the employer of candidates using the site.

2. Using the job board

You may use Find a Startup Job to:

  • browse available vacancies;
  • view information about startups advertising on the platform; and
  • submit applications to employers.

When using the site, you must provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge and must not use the service in a fraudulent, misleading, abusive or unlawful way.

You must not attempt to interfere with the operation or security of the site, gain unauthorised access to accounts or systems, scrape the service in a way that places an unreasonable load on it, or use the site to distribute malicious material.

3. Job listings

Job listings are provided by the employer advertising the vacancy.

Employers are responsible for the accuracy of the information they publish, including information about:

  • the role;
  • salary;
  • location;
  • working arrangements;
  • company information; and
  • the recruitment process.

Find a Startup Job may review startups and job listings before they become publicly available, but this does not mean that we independently verify every statement made by an employer.

A listing appearing on Find a Startup Job is not an endorsement or guarantee of the employer, the role or any employment opportunity.

We may remove, suspend or refuse listings where we reasonably believe they breach our rules, present a risk to users or are otherwise inappropriate for the platform.

4. Application service

When you submit an application through Find a Startup Job, you instruct and authorise us to transmit the information you provide to the employer advertising that vacancy so that they can consider your application.

The information you submit may include:

  • your name;
  • email address and other contact information;
  • your CV;
  • an application message;
  • your LinkedIn profile; and
  • other information you choose to provide.

Your authorisation applies only to the employer advertising the vacancy you selected.

Find a Startup Job does not sell candidate personal data and does not distribute candidate applications to unrelated employers, recruiters, recruitment agencies or other companies for their own recruitment or marketing purposes.

Once your application has been provided to the employer, that employer may process your information for its own recruitment purposes and is responsible for its own use of that information and its obligations under applicable data protection law.

5. Applications and recruitment decisions

Submitting an application through Find a Startup Job does not guarantee:

  • that the employer will review your application;
  • that you will receive a response;
  • that you will be invited to interview; or
  • that you will be offered employment.

Recruitment decisions are made solely by the employer.

Find a Startup Job is not responsible for decisions made by an employer about your application or for communications, interviews, offers or employment arrangements that take place between you and an employer.

6. Application data

We keep application information in accordance with our Privacy Notice.

While a vacancy remains open, authorised representatives of the employer may access applications submitted to that vacancy through their private employer area.

When the vacancy closes, expires or is removed from Find a Startup Job, access to the application through our platform ends and we delete the application data we hold in accordance with our retention policy.

An employer may already have downloaded your application or transferred it into its own recruitment or applicant tracking system. Information held independently by an employer is subject to that employer's own data protection obligations.

7. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the information you submit through Find a Startup Job.

You must not knowingly submit:

  • false or misleading information;
  • content that infringes another person's rights;
  • malicious files or software;
  • unlawful, threatening or abusive material; or
  • information you do not have the right to provide.

You should not include unnecessary sensitive personal information in your CV or application.

8. Employer relationships

Any employment, consultancy or other working relationship that results from a vacancy advertised through Find a Startup Job is between you and the employer.

Find a Startup Job is not a party to:

  • employment contracts;
  • salary or compensation arrangements;
  • interview processes;
  • background checks;
  • employment references;
  • workplace disputes; or
  • any other agreement between you and an employer.

You should make your own assessment of an employer and any opportunity before accepting an offer or providing information outside the application process.

9. Availability of the service

We aim to keep Find a Startup Job available and working correctly, but we do not guarantee that the service will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free.

We may change, suspend or discontinue parts of the service where reasonably necessary, including for maintenance, security or product changes.

10. Intellectual property

The Find a Startup Job name, branding, website design and original site content belong to us or are used by us with permission.

You may use the site for its intended purpose, but you may not copy, reproduce, republish or commercially exploit substantial parts of the service without permission.

Content supplied by employers remains the responsibility of the employer that provided it.

11. Limitation of responsibility

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

To the extent permitted by law, Find a Startup Job is not responsible for losses arising from:

  • inaccurate or misleading information provided by an employer;
  • an employer's recruitment decisions;
  • communications or dealings between you and an employer;
  • a vacancy being changed, withdrawn or filled;
  • third-party websites or services; or
  • circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We do not exclude responsibility for any liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

12. Suspending access or use

We may restrict or prevent use of Find a Startup Job where we reasonably believe someone is:

  • misusing the service;
  • attempting to compromise its security;
  • acting fraudulently;
  • breaching these Terms; or
  • using the platform unlawfully.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the service, our policies or applicable law.

The latest version will be published on this page with the date it was last updated.

Your continued use of the service after an updated version takes effect will be subject to the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any dispute relating to these Terms or your use of Find a Startup Job will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
