Privacy Notice

This notice explains how Find a Startup Job (“we”, “us”) handles personal data when you use findastartupjob.co.uk. It is a working draft and is not a substitute for full legal advice.

Who we are

Find a Startup Job operates a UK startup job board at findastartupjob.co.uk. Employers list vacancies; candidates can apply without creating an account.

Job applications

When you apply for a job on Find a Startup Job, we collect the information you submit in the application form. That typically includes your name, email address, optional LinkedIn profile URL, optional message, and your CV file.

We use that information to forward your application to the employer advertising the vacancy, using the application email address they provided for that job. We also send you a confirmation email that your application was submitted.

Your CV is uploaded to private temporary storage so we can attach it to the employer email. After the employer email has been accepted by our email provider, we delete the temporary CV file from storage. We do not operate a candidate account, applicant dashboard, or long-term application inbox as part of this flow.

Once forwarded, the employer becomes an independent recipient of your application data and will handle it under their own policies for recruitment. We ask employers to use application data only to consider your application for the role you applied to.

Service providers

To deliver this service we use infrastructure providers, including:

  • Supabase — database and private file storage for temporary CV uploads
  • Resend — transactional email delivery to employers and candidates
  • Vercel — application hosting
  • Google Analytics 4 — optional analytics cookies, only after you accept analytics in the cookie banner

These providers process data on our instructions to operate the board. Exact processing locations and sub-processors should be confirmed against each provider’s current documentation during legal review.

Cookies and analytics

Essential cookies may be used for signed-in employer sessions. We also offer optional Google Analytics cookies so we can understand how the public job board is used. Analytics cookies are off by default until you accept them. You can change that choice later via the Cookies link in the footer. We do not use Google advertising cookies on this site.

Retention

Temporary CV files for successful applications are deleted after the employer email is accepted. Technical delivery receipts may be kept briefly to prevent duplicate sends. Abandoned uploads may remain until cleaned up (intended within about 24 hours once a cleanup job is configured). We do not build a permanent CV archive in this product.

Employer accounts

Employers sign in with a one-time email code. Account and company profile data are processed to provide the employer area and publish vacancies.

Your rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Because applications are emailed to employers, some requests may need to be directed to the employer as well.

Contact details for privacy requests should be confirmed before production launch.

This page is a working draft describing the implemented application data flow. Final privacy wording still requires legal review before production use.
